So - whats in the box??

So saturday came after a sleepless night, I was so excited, what would we find in the box? Rang dad as promised on saturday morning - Alun answered.....(his brother).....Dads in the Royal again, crisis with his breathing....intially disappointed, but hey, we were going to go down anyway - so lets go and see him in hospital.

Rang the hospital to find out what ward he is in, and rang Alun back to tell him. Also told Alun what my mission was - it was news to him.....he would have a nosey to see if he could find the key to the box.

Alun rang back half hour later, hes found some 'bits n pieces' in his own room - seems they had been put there for 'safety' after Pops death, so that they would not get in the wrong hands no doubt!! Hang fire Alun I almost shouted - Im on my way!!!!!

So go there just over an hour later. A nice pile of papers to include;

Birth cerificate for John Campbell - yes hes Scottish and gives details of his mothers maiden name and THEIR marriage details!!

Marriage certificate for Rowland Owen to Catherine Williams - Elizbeth Ellens parents (she married John Campbell)

Handwritten letter to Elizabeth - expressing sorrow at Johns death

Telegram to inform Elizabeth thats Johns body was coming home

Medals for John Campbell - Pip, Squeak and Wilfred (standard WW1 issue) along with a plaque - Dead Mans Penny from Buck Palace

Certificate for John to say he competed Mounted Infantry training

Insurance Policy - got to check if its been claimed

Letter informing of a death to a Mrs Owens (not sure who she is...)

Grave Deeds for John Campbell
